When can I start classes?

We have beginner level courses starting every few weeks. Choose your night – we have Monday, Wednesday and Thursday start dates. Please check the timetable for the next start-date.

Why do I take a fixed course?

Classes are organized into courses to keep you learning with students who are at the same level as you, and dancing socially with students of all different levels. This means you can learn more and have more fun!

What if I've never danced before?

No worries! Our Beginner 1 Level is designed for absolute beginners, and will prepare you to move on to the next level.

What if I've taken some salsa classes before?

Please tell the instructor, who will help you determine which level is appropriate for you. We will help you "un-learn" any habits that aren't helpful, and make you the best dancer you can be!

What do I wear?

Dress comfortably. People often attend our classes after work, so they're frequently in business attire. Make sure your shoes aren't overly bulky and that your feet don't slip out of them when you move. Super-high heels may make it difficult to adjust to a new dance.

Do I need to bring a partner?

No, although you're welcome to bring friends! In fact, you learn best when you dance with a number of partners. That's why we rotate all the students regularly so you'll dance with everyone at least once!

Where can I park for the classes?

Parking in the city can involve driving in circles - unless you go exactly where the empty spots are straight away! So take our advice and you should have no trouble parking within 0-4 minutes walk of the studio. On Wednesdays there are spots available on Castlereagh St. between Park and Market Sts, directly in front of the studio. Otherwise, turn left onto Park St. and you should find a spot in either direction between Elizabeth and College Sts. On Thursdays, there are metred parking spaces that become legal at 6:30 southbound on Elizabeth St. just north of Park St. (in front of the bus stops), or southbound on College St. just north of Park St. (in front of Cook and Philip Park). Obviously you should leave yourself a few extra minutes until you get used to finding parking, but if you follow these directions you'll have no problem. Remember to not leave any valuables in view inside your car.

What if I have two left feet!?

Our instructors have experience with students with up to five left feet. We're very patient!

If I can’t continue with a course, can I get a refund?

We don’t offer refunds on course fees after the course starts. Normally we try to be quite flexible by, for example, allowing students to transfer their fees to future courses. This applies to private lesson packages as well.
